The Magic Lesson

| ENTERING THE MAGIC WORLD! We wear the magic T-shirt, a symbol of the passage, from the real world, in which we speak our native language, to the fantastic world of Hocus & Lotus, in which only the new language is spoken. Then we stand in a magic circle, holding hands, we close our eyes and we pronounce the magic formula: we count to ten in the new language! Our motto is: enter a new world to experience a new language! |

| AND NOW... ACTING OUT!
We will experience one of Hocus & Lotus’ adventures, we will match the new words with our gestures, facial expressions, tone of voice. We do not need a translation, we understand and produce the new language, and we have a wonderful time! This is the natural process of language acquisition. |

| WE LIVE THE ADVENTURE, SINGING OUT WITH GESTURES! The same adventure we have just acted out is now transformed into a mini-musical. Music is not just a background, it helps create the emotional state. The songs, which are repeated several times, help memorization, since the lyrics match the text of the stories that are acted out. |

| WE READ OUR ADVENTURE
We can finally narrate our adventure while we are looking at the pictures in the illustrated book. This is how we learn colours and, without even noticing, we are already repeating the new words for the third time. Almost like little children do when they are learning to speak! The pictures in the book recount the same story we have experienced in class. |

| ... and finally we can all watch the cartoon! Hocus & Lotus’ colourful and amusing cartoon can help us repeat the words we have learned so far, in a pleasant and enjoyable way. |

| MAGIC FORMULA We go back in to the magic circle, we hold hands and close our eyes. We count down from 10 to 0! GOING BACK TO THE REAL WORLD We take off our magic T-shirt and start talking again, in our own language. At home the adventure can continue with the fantastic Hocus and Lotus materials! |
